Our 46th annual family picnic began on Thursday, July 16, 2009. Our weekend was filled with nice warm sunny weather, which made everyone appreciate the river that much more.
Saturday's main event began early in the morning with preparing the bar-b-que for the pig that would be roasting all day.
The kids games were crazy, wild and fun as usual! After the games, Merle's ice cream cones were a big hit for all those hot little bodies and big ones too. Our day was topped off by the wonderful potluck dishes and roasted pig - YUM! In the evening everyone sat around the fire and some of the adults played BINGO. (They can get pretty roudy! UFF DA!)
Terry and Nancy Bryn visited for the day and talked about farm life in Dazey. (Nice to hear that North Dakota accent!) Dorothy Esser, Pete, Carol, Chris and the boys made it from Seattle. Owen Lewis and his girlfriend Sherry and her son Jeremiah came from Bend and spent the weekend camping with us. It was nice to talk to Robert Templeton's girlfriend Jessica and her daughter Mikayla. It was great to see Al and Emily again and hope to see them next year.
Special thanks to Ivan, Arvaida, Rob, Denny, Jim, Jason, Dena, Laurel, Donna and the numerous others who made this another successful and fun gathering.
For those of you who were not able to make it, we missed you and hope you can join us next year. We have lots of room for all!
